Mary & Martha Ministry

A word from Director Krista Manning:
I moved to the Shore in 2007 and when I found out that our church did not have an active women’s ministry, I began to earnestly pray for such a group. M&M ministries was birthed in November, 2010 when the Lord poured it into my heart in the middle of the night. He gave me the mission statement, the goal and the Scripture.
The name M&M stands for Mary and Martha, taken from the passage in Luke 10:38-42:
(38) Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
(39) And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.
(40) But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
(41) And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
(42) But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
I am so humbled that the Lord has chosen me to head up this exciting ministry. I love that God can use ordinary people to do extraordinary things.
The purpose of M&M Ministries is not to serve ourselves as women in the church, but to go out into the communities on the Eastern Shore and give ourselves, our time and our resources. We will also have fun times such as women’s retreats, shopping and fellowship together to renew and refresh our spirits.
We have some exciting way to minister and for you to plug in! Below are several ways to get started:
  • Kitchen Angels
  • Food Service
  • Bread Bakers
  • Mentoring and/or discipline
  • Service projects in their community
  • Women’s prayer chain
If you haven’t ever taken a Spiritual Gifts Inventory, please email or call me and I will put one in your hands. No one but you will see the results, but it is so helpful in showing you gifts that you may not realize that you have.
The Bible says in 1st Peter 4:10-11:
(10) As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
(11) If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
